With the support of “Embimunaigas” JSC, a training and production site for future oil workers has been opened in Atyrau
In Atyrau, a training and production site for preparing future oil specialists was launched at the Satbayev Oil and Gas University.
The opening ceremony was attended by Atyrau Region Akim Serik Shapkenov, Chairman of the Management Board of “KazMunayGas” NC JSC Askhat Khasenov, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuidaibergen Arymbek, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Gulzat Kobenova, Rector of the University Gulzada Shakulikova, as well as veterans of the oil and gas industry.
The training site, covering a total area of 4 hectares, was built with the financial support of “Embimunaigas” JSC (a subsidiary of “KazMunayGas” NC JSC). The training site is a small-scale model of an oil and gas production facility, featuring the full cycle of industrial processes — from subsurface exploration to hydrocarbon processing.
“Training qualified specialists required for the country’s oil and gas sector is a pressing issue for KazMunayGas. The training site has been designed to replicate real industrial conditions as closely as possible, providing students with the opportunity to solve actual operational tasks and master oil and gas technologies. Welders, turners, operators, machin ists, and other specialists will gain hands-on experience here. This initiative is especially significant in the ‘Year of Vocational Professions’ announced by the President of Kazakhstan,” — said A. Khasenov.
The site is equipped with a modern laboratory. Two wells were drilled to teach underground repair operations, and 15 training grounds were built for future specialists to perform practical tasks.
The Satbayev Atyrau Oil and Gas University has become the first higher education institution in Kazakhstan with such a modern technological base.
