Geological exploration

As of January 1, 2026, Embamunaigas JSC (hereinafter – the Company) holds 41 fields on its balance sheet. The status of these fields is as follows:

• 32 fields are currently under development;
• 5 fields are under conservation;
• 4 fields are prepared for return to the state due to depleted oil reserves;
• 1 field’s contract territory has been returned.

The Company’s priority task is the replenishment of its resource base.

The Geological Service of Embamunaigas JSC is conducting analytical work as part of a regional survey. Collected materials and laboratory results indicate a need for further study of the post-salt complex on the southern and eastern margins of the Caspian Depression. Additionally, the central part of the Caspian region is characterized by high potential for the discovery of small fields. A number of promising pre-salt targets have been identified and recommended for further exploration and drilling.

Based on the results of exploration activities conducted in recent years, there has been a high success rate in both the further exploration of existing fields and the prospecting of new areas.
