Regarding the information circulating on social networks about road contamination in the Taisoygan rural district, EmbaMunaiGas JSC (hereinafter EMG or the Company) reports the following:
On February 12, 2025, during the transportation by specialized equipment of used drilling mud, produced during the drilling of the ST-1 exploration well at the Taisoygan-1 site of the Kainarmunaigaz NGDU, a leak of the liquid fraction of the drilling mud onto the roadway of the dirt road was discovered.
It should be noted that the transportation, processing, and further disposal of drilling mud, in accordance with contractual obligations for the construction of exploration wells, are carried out by EmbaMunaiGas JSC's business partner - MunaiService Ltd LLP.
Currently, EMG, together with the contracting company, has taken prompt measures to clean the contaminated sections of the dirt road. For this purpose, special equipment and 15 people have been allocated. Soil samples have been taken for analysis. The situation is under the personal control of the company's management.
EmbaMunaiGas JSC pays special attention to environmental safety issues and compliance with environmental regulations. In connection with this incident, an inspection was organized, following which the contracting organization was sent requirements for the immediate elimination of the consequences of the pollution and the adoption of additional measures to prevent such cases in the future.
The company always keeps under control the observance of environmental standards and requirements for contractors and subcontractors, in order to minimize the negative impact on the environment.
