Cradle of Kazakh Oil: Emba constructs modern museum and library complex in Dossor
A modern museum and library complex spanning 700 square meters has been commissioned in the village of Dossor, Makat District, Atyrau Region. The grand opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the regional administration, JSC Embamunaigas, JSC Samruk-Kazyna, local residents, and oil industry workers.
The facility was built following an initiative by Dossor residents through Embamunaigas—a subsidiary of KazMunayGas—with the participation of the Samruk-Kazyna Trust.
The complex is divided into specialized zones. The library block features a 50-seat reading room equipped with computer technology and a dedicated children's department. Specialized rooms equipped with the Braille system have been provided for visually impaired visitors. The library's collection comprises approximately 30,000 volumes.
The museum’s exhibition hall, housing over 4,500 artifacts, is divided into several thematic sections, including an ethnographic corner and sections dedicated to the history of the oil and gas industry and the development of the Atyrau Region. The complex meets modern standards and is equipped with the latest lighting, heating, and ventilation engineering systems.
"For Embamunaigas, this project represents a contribution to preserving historical and cultural heritage while creating modern conditions for the development and leisure of Makat District residents. As a socially responsible company, we pay special attention to constructing new facilities in the areas where our production units operate. Dossor is where the history of Kazakh oil began, and we are pleased to support the local community's initiative," noted EMG Director General Rinat Izmukhambet.
Notably, the first Kazakh oil production began in the village of Dossor in the early 20th century. Today, Dossormunaigas—one of EMG’s production structural units—continues to operate in the area.
