Graduated from the V.I.Lenin Kazakh Polytechnic Institute (1976) with a degree in Technology and Integrated Mechanization of Oil and Gas Field Development, Almaty Institute of Political Science and Management (1991).
He began his career in 1976 as the operator of the Kulsary oil and gas field OGPD Kulsaryneft. Then he worked as a senior engineer in the production and technological department, head of the underground repair shop, head of the production shop of the Kulsary deposit.
From 1985 to 1989 – Secretary of the Party Committee of OGPD Kulsaryneft.
Over the years, he worked as the head of the planning and economic department, Chief engineer of Kulsaryneft, head of the production and technology Department, chief engineer, First Vice President of Tengizmunaigas. In connection with the merger of two joint-stock companies Embamunaigas and Tengizmunaigas in 1999, he was appointed head of OGPD Kulsarymunaigas.
In 2004, he was appointed Director of the Embamunaigas production branch of the KazMunaiGas Exploration and Production Joint Stock Company. Then he worked as the head of OGPD Kulsarymunaigas, Chief Technical Officer of PB JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production – Embamunaigas, senior adviser on relations with local authorities of the Atyrau branch of the North Caspian Operating Company. From 2012 to 2017, he was the akim of the Zhylyoy district of Atyrau region. Since 2021 – Chairman of the Public Council of Atyrau region.
