KMG has started drilling the first exploratory well at the Taisoygan field in Atyrau region

Embamunaigas JSC (a 100% subsidiary of NC KazMunaiGas JSC) has started drilling the first exploratory well at the Taisoygan field in the Atyrau region.

The site is a series of suprasalt Mesozoic structures within the Caspian sedimentary basin. It is planned to drill 8 structures by the end of 2025 with a depth of 400 to 3,800 meters.

The facilities were prepared for drilling based on a large-scale 3D seismic survey covering an area of 5,600 square kilometers.

All subsurface use operations are performed by Embamunaigas JSC in strict accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and environmental requirements.

The exploration projects of JSC NC KazMunayGas are intended at searching for hydrocarbons and increasing the country's resource base. Their implementation is of particular importance in regions with mature deposits, where natural depletion of reserves is observed. Drilling of exploratory wells at the Taisoygan field is an important stage in strengthening the energy potential and economic stability of the Atyrau region.

Earlier, Uaz, Uaz Severny, Kondybai, and other deposits were discovered near the Taisoygan field.
