Challenge yourself and go through a number of physical and intellectual challenges, learn to work in a team, and master 12 new tools of lean manufacturing - 120 young professionals of Embamunaygas JSC (hereinafter, EMG or the Company) devoted three days last week to coping with these and other tasks.  

On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Kazakhstani oil and in the context of the Year of Youth in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first in the history of the Company Forum “Young Professionals Day” was held at the EMG organized by the Human Resources and Remuneration Department and the Council of Young Professionals at EMG.

“The purpose of this Forum is to create corporate values, familiarize yourself with the basics of lean manufacturing, stimulate young professionals to actively participate in solving the Company's production and strategic tasks, and create conditions for professional growth and development of leadership skills,” said Salimzhan NAKPAEV Deputy Chairman of the Management Board on general issues at EMG at the opening of the Forum.

On the first day of the Forum at the Besikty recreation camp, a communication game was held to develop team spirit within the Win-Win concept, in which 12 teams on 3 sites overcame an obstacle course of 10.5 km. At each site, young professionals were faced with unexpected and difficult obstacles that could only be overcome by rallying as a team under the watchful supervision of strict judges. Using non-standard tests, the organizers aimed to force young people to leave the comfort zone, get over their fear and realize the importance of teamwork. According to the results of the game, all participants were awarded commemorative medals. The evening of the first day ended with the traditional collective singing to a guitar around the fire.

On the second day of the Forum, participants competed for the Kaizen Cup. During the tournament, each team performed tasks in a playful way using lean manufacturing tools for a certain period of time.

- Today the concept of lean manufacturing is one of the effective tools to increase labor productivity in the company. “The essence of the concept is to reduce all types of production costs,” said Gibrat AUGANOV Deputy Director of the Human Resources and Remuneration Department at EMG in his welcoming speech. From his personal experience he told young professionals about the opportunities that give participation in the Forum for further career and personal development.

The high intellectual load on this day was taken off with breaks and physical activities, meditation and coffee-break-networking under the motto “Do not eat alone”.

The last day of the Forum was held at the head office of EMG. The headliner of the motivational part was address of Marat ZHYLANBAYEV the famous Kazakhstani professional marathonist, who told young Embinians how to overcome difficult times and life's trials. As part of a visit to the office, the event participants familiarized themselves with geological and interactive museums, visited the Center for visualization of production processes of the Company, and also wrote letters to themselves in the future with the condition to open them in 2020.

At the end of the event, Elmira KARIMOVA Business Partner of National Company KazMunayGas JSC and Gulbanu SHARAFETDINOVA Director of the Human Resources and Remuneration Department at EMG urged young people to use their three-day work experience and constantly work on professional and personal growth.

- Surely, these days you were able to feel that the values of the Company carry a deep meaning guided by which each person will achieve success both in professional activities and in all other areas of life. “If you take care of your life and your own health, persistently strive to achieve your goals, take care of the environment and the workplace, constantly improve your knowledge and skills and build relationships with others in a spirit of trust and respect, each of you is guaranteed to achieve great achievements in a career and in general will take place in life,” - summarized G. At the end of the event, all participants were awarded certificates.
