The Embinians met with internationalist soldiers
Tо commemorate the 30th anniversary of withdrawal of the Soviet troops from Afghanistan, the Council of Young Specialists of “Embamunaygas” JSC arranged a meeting with the internationalist soldiers. The event began with a moment of silence in memory of those perished on the battlefield.
- 620 servicemen served in the limited contingent of the Soviet troops that were on the territory of the Republic of Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989. The casualties of the Soviet Armed Forces amounted to about 15 thousand people, 417 people were missing in action. 22 thousand Kazakhstanis passed through Afghanistan, and about 800 of them died. The flame of the Afghan war also burned the Atyrau region. 680 of our fellowmen fulfilled their internationalist duty in Afghanistan. 14 people died, 1 person went missing. Among those who fought in Afghanistan are the Embinians who faithfully and courageously fulfilled their duty standing by their oath. Every year in February, we organize meetings dedicated to the military-patriotic education of the young generation and honour the memory of the soldiers who died during the Afghan war, - Aibolat GABDULLIN, Deputy Chairman of the Production Board of “Embamunaygas” JSC, said in his speech.
Today, 15 people who served in Afghanistan work in the Company’s production structural units. Three people justly retired after working on the Emba for many years. Amandyk Mirgaliyev, a son of Yerlan Mirgaliyev - participant in military operations in Afghanistan who died in 2015, was invited to the event. Yerlan Mirgaliyev worked as a maintenance fitter in oil and gas production department at Kenbay field, OGPC “Kainarmunaygas” for many years.
During the meeting, the guests talked with the young Embinians discussing many vital issues, shared their memories of the past.
Author of the book “Augan sogysyndagy Atyraulyk zhauyngerler shezhіresі” (“Chronicle of Atyrau Soldiers in Afghan War”), Candidate of Philological Sciences Aigul Yermekova helped the audience to turn back, recall the details of those harsh years. During the event, she gave a brief biographical information about the life and military service of the internationalist soldiers of the Afghan war.

“Embamunaygas” JSC is affiliated company of “KazMunayGas Exploration Production” JSC. Officially, the foundation of “Embamunaygas” JSC start from 1922 - since the foundation of “Embaneft” Trust for development of the Dossor and Makat fields. The main company profiles are exploration, development of oil and gas fields; oil and gas production; oil and gas processing. “Embamunaygas” JSC consists of six operational structural units in Atyrau and four regional units in Atyrau Oblast: “Zhaiykmunaygas”, “Dossormunaygas”, “Kainarmunaygas”, “Zhylyoimunaygas”, “Embamunayenergo” company, and “Equipment technical maintenance and warehouse management”. Company supplies produced oil for export and domestic market. For the domestic market, oil is supplied to the oil processing plants in Kazakhstan.
