“Embamunaygas” JSC is among the top three environmentally responsible companies
On January 22, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Russia and the CREON group, with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented the results of the Environmental Responsibility Transparency Rating of Kazakhstan oil and gas companies in Astana. The project is implemented with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme in Central Asia (UNEP-CA). The rating analysis was performed by the National Rating Agency.
The rating is based on public-accessible information on the activities of companies and is compiled according to several criteria: environmental management, environmental impact, and information disclosure/transparency. For the second year, National Company “KazMunayGas” ranked highest with Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. being a runner-up. It was the first time for “Embamunaygas” JSC to be in top three, which demonstrated the greatest commitment to environmental responsibility and transparency among NC KMG subsidiaries. The company is deeply aware of its responsibility towards nature and society and is committed to continuous improvement in the sphere of environmental management.

“Embamunaygas” JSC is affiliated company of “KazMunayGas Exploration Production” JSC. Officially, the foundation of “Embamunaygas” JSC start from 1922 - since the foundation of “Embaneft” Trust for development of the Dossor and Makat fields. The main company profiles are exploration, development of oil and gas fields; oil and gas production; oil and gas processing. “Embamunaygas” JSC consists of six operational structural units in Atyrau and four regional units in Atyrau Oblast: “Zhaiykmunaygas”, “Dossormunaygas”, “Kainarmunaygas”, “Zhylyoimunaygas”, “Embamunayenergo” company, and “Equipment technical maintenance and warehouse management”. Company supplies produced oil for export and domestic market. For the domestic market, oil is supplied to the oil processing plants in Kazakhstan. Oil is exported via two main routes: through the pipelines of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and Uzen-Atyrau-Samara (UAS). Sales gas is marketed through the gas and gas supply national operator of the RoK – “KazTransGas” JSC. From October 1, 2012 to 11 months of 2018, “Embamunaygas” JSC paid over 873.4 billion tenge as taxes to the republican and local budgets; over 4.3 billion tenge were allocated for development of regional infrastructure. “Embamunaygas” JSC operates in compliance with international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001.
