On February 23-24, 2018, the third and final session for discussion on the concept of EMG until 2027 was held. The session was attended by the Top Management of KazMunaiGas Exploration Production JSC (hereinafter - KMG EP), EMG, heads of business units, key departments and services of the Company.
The final session was offsite meeting and held under the slogan of "Conquering new heights". The organizer of all strategic sessions was the perspective development unit of the Company.
“Embamunaigas is a backbone enterprise in Atyrau region historically. Traditions, labor dynasties and care for production processes are always strengths of the Company. It is natural that among the group of companies KMG EP, Emba was a pioneer in developing a long-term development concept. Previously, the Company first introduced a digital oilfield Project, logistics Projects, Maintenance Service, etc.,” - the General Director of KMG EP, Kurmangazy ISKAZIYEV said during the opening speech.
The New EMG Development Concept Project was presented by the Managing Director on Perspective Development Alikhan BAYDUSSENOV during strategic session. The Deputy Chairman of the Management Board on Economics and Finance, RYSTY TASMAGAMBETOV informed participants on the long-term financial and economic model of the Company development.
“Renaissance, a previous strategy, included the vision of the Company's production and reserves until 2037, and the economic indicators up to 2019. In connection with the changing trends in the hydrocarbon market, responsibility for the fate of many thousands of staff and strategic challenges faced by the Company, the objective need in adopting the program for the coming 10 years has emerged. The purpose of today's session is to discuss the draft concept of EMG development in an expanded format with the participation of the parent company – KMG EP. Then, taking into account their recommendations, it’s necessary to submit the final Development Concept for approval by EMG Board of Directors,” - EMG Chairman of the Board, Anuar ZHAKSYBEKOV said.
During the two days of the session, the participants discussed the results of the previous strategic sessions, agreed on the vision, mission and values of the Company in the framework of the new development concept, determined the current status of EMG "Where we are", discussed plans for the future "Where we want to be" and the long-term strategic directions of EMG activities, considered HSE, HR functional strategies, and production automation, as well as the risks of realization of the concept in various scenarios of the Company’s development.

Embamunaigas JSC is a subsidiary of KazMunaiGas Exploration Production JSC. The official history of Embamunaigas JSC starts since 1922 – since the creation of Embaneft Group for the development of Dossor and Makat fields. The main activities of the company: geological exploration, development of oil and gas fields; oil and gas production; oil and gas treatment. Embamunaigas JSC consists of 6 production divisions in Atyrau and 4 ones in Atyrau region: Zhayikmunaygas, DossorMunaiGas, Kainarmunaigas, Zhylyoimunaigas, Embamunaigas Management and Management of the production maintenance and equipment procurement. The Company exports oil and sells it on the domestic market. On the domestic market, oil is supplied via RoK refineries. Oil is exported via two main ways: Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and Uzen-Atyrau-Samara (UAS) pipelines. The gas is sold through the national operator of Kazakhstan in the field of gas and gas supply - KazTransGas JSC. Over the past four years, Embamunaigas JSC has transferred more than 625 billion tenge of which about 81 billion – in 2016 in the form of taxes to the national and local budgets.
