Strategic session 5.0 - Сost Management

This year, on October 4-5, Embamunaigas JSC (hereinafter referred to as EMG or the Company) held the fifth strategic session to discuss the implementation of the company's Development Concept until 2027 (hereinafter referred to as the Concept).

The session was attended by top management, management of production departments, heads of key departments and services of the Company. During the session, the current status of the Development Concept was reviewed, plans to update the Concept, taking into account new external and internal challenges for the reporting year and future prospects, were discussed. New challenges require the Company to implement new approaches to cost management, which primarily cover production management, geological exploration activities, repairs of oilfield equipment, personnel management, transport support, energy and other issues, said Deputy Chairman of the Board for Economics and Finance of EMG Rysty TASMAGAMBETOVA during the summing up of the strategic session.

During the session, a team practical work was organized to develop alternative strategies for the Company's development taking into account changes in external and internal factors, with the leaders of each team being the heads of oil and gas departments. In addition, within the framework of the strategic session, the head of the risk management service Tulegen Bazarbekov held a master class on risk assessment for the participants of the session using specially prepared cases.

A special place at the strategic session was devoted to water resources management, for which Ksenia Yurkavets, an expert on water resources management of the Department of labor protection, industrial safety and environmental protection of NK KazMunayGas JSC, was invited. Her part of the presentation touched upon all vital issues related to current problems and prospects of water resources management 

To be reminded, the Concept was adopted on April 24, 2018 by the Board of Directors of EMG for the next 10 years. The Concept includes strategically important activities of the company – additional exploration of existing fields, obtaining new contracts for subsoil use, implementation of new technologies, acquisition of new assets, cost optimization, updating oilfield equipment, improvement of social conditions, repair of roads, machinery, etc. This program document also includes functional strategies for the development of key areas – labor protection and the environment, HR and IT.

“Embamunaygas” JSC is affiliated company of “KazMunayGas Exploration Production” JSC. Officially, the foundation of “Embamunaygas” JSC start from 1922 - since the foundation of “Embaneft” Trust for development of the Dossor and Makat fields. The main company profiles are exploration, development of oil and gas fields; oil and gas production; oil and gas processing. “Embamunaygas” JSC consists of six operational structural units in Atyrau and four regional units in Atyrau Oblast: “Zhaiykmunaygas”, “Dossormunaygas”, “Kainarmunaygas”, “Zhylyoimunaygas”, “Embamunayenergo” company, and “Equipment technical maintenance and warehouse management”. Company supplies produced oil for export and domestic market. For the domestic market, oil is supplied to the oil processing plants in Kazakhstan. Oil is exported via two main routes: through the pipelines of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and Uzen-Atyrau-Samara (UAS). Sales gas is marketed through the gas and gas supply national operator of the RoK – “KazTransGas” JSC.

Starting October 1, 2012 to 2018, Embamunaygas JSC sent over 897 billion tenge for the payment of taxes to the republican and local budgets, more than 4.3 billion tenge was allocated for the development of regional infrastructure.
