Embamunaygas JSC Gets a New Independent Director

As per the decision of the Board of National Company KazMunayGas JSC, due to early resignation of Baltabek Kuandykov, member of the Board of Directors at Embamunaygas JSC, Maksim Izbasov has been elected as a new independent director.

Maksim Izbasov graduated from Lenin Kazakh Polytechnic Institute as a specialist in technology and the comprehensive mechanization of oil and gas field development in 1976. In 1991, he completed a training course at the Almaty Institute of Management and Political Science.

He started his career in 1976 as an oil and gas production operator at Kulsaryneft (Kulsary oil and gas field). Later he was promoted to Senior Engineer in the Technical Engineering Department, Manager of the Well-Servicing Unit, and Manager of the Production Unit at the Kulsary field.

From 1985 to 1989, Maksim Izbasov was a secretary of the party committee at Kulsaryneft. Over the years, he has worked as Head of the Economic and Planning Department, Chief Engineer of Kulsaryneft, Head of Technical Engineering Department, Chief Engineer, First Vice President at Tengizmunaygas. After the merger of Embamunaygas and Tengizmunaygas, in 1999 he was appointed as Head of Kulsarymunaygas.

In 2004, he took up the post of Director at Embamunaygas production branch within KazMunayGas Exploration Production JSC. Then he worked as Head of Kulsarymunaygas, Chief Engineering Director at Embamunaygas Branch of KazMunayGas Exploration Production JSC, Senior Adviser on Relations with Local Authorities in Atyrau Branch of North Caspian Operating Company. From 2012 to 2017, he also acted as Akim of Zhylyoi District (Atyrau Region).

Laureate of the International Confederation of Oil and Gas Trade Unions Award (2005). Citizen of Honor in Zhylyoi District (2004) and Kyzylkoga District (2007) of Atyrau Region. "Жыл мұнайшысы" (Man of the Year) (2001), Deputy of the Regional Maslikhat in 1993-2003 and 2003-2007.

“Embamunaygas” JSC is affiliated company of “KazMunayGas Exploration Production” JSC. Officially, the foundation of “Embamunaygas” JSC start from 1922 - since the foundation of “Embaneft” Trust for development of the Dossor and Makat fields. The main company profiles are exploration, development of oil and gas fields; oil and gas production; oil and gas processing. “Embamunaygas” JSC consists of six operational structural units in Atyrau and four regional units in Atyrau Oblast: “Zhaiykmunaygas”, “Dossormunaygas”, “Kainarmunaygas”, “Zhylyoimunaygas”, “Embamunayenergo” company, and “Equipment technical maintenance and warehouse management”.
