A reporting meeting of the Chairman of the Board of EMG A.Ye. Zhaksybekov with the staff was held on 24.04.2019 at the main office of “Embamunaygas” JSC (hereinafter EMG or Company). Company’s production and financial and economic performance in 2018 and Q1 2019 was discussed at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by top management, heads of departments and services of the management administration team, heads and chief engineers of production structural units, heads of social policy departments and production shops, as well as trade union leaders of all production structural units. According to the already established tradition, before hearing the report for the past year, the award ceremony for the winners of the corporate contest “I’m from Emba” took place (for more details, see the information statement “Winners of the contest “I’m from Emba!”).
- Several months have passed since the last general meeting, and important events in the history of the country occurred. Our Elbasy - Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev announced the resignation from office as President of Kazakhstan and transfer of office for the remaining term to Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich Tokayev. The election of a new Head of State is scheduled for June 9 of this year. The oil workers of Emba have always been the backbone of the State and the locomotive of its social and economic development, therefore I urge our large and united team to take an active part in the elections! Further stability and prosperity of the country and the future of our children depend on our active position! - Anuar Zhaksybekov said in his welcoming speech.
The head of EMG also thanked the team for supporting the initiative to provide financial aid to the residents of 4 districts of Atyrau Oblast, where Company’s OGPCs are based:
- At the beginning of the year, the Elbasy, at the 18th convention of “Nur Otan” party, outlined a number of key tasks for the coming year, which include supporting the low-income groups and housing initiatives. Not long ago I addressed the entire team with a proposal to support the residents of the districts of Atyrau Oblast, where the Company’s fields are being developed, and to allocate one-day salary for the purchase of housing for low-income families of our fellowmen. And I am grateful to you that I once again was met with the support of co-workers. I am sure that on the eve of the holy Ramadan, the good shown by our team will return to each of us a hundredfold!
The head of the Company also thanked the team for the zero fatalities and accidents achieved last year, urging to continue, and follow the standards adopted in international companies. It should be noted that for the purpose of comparative analysis of injuries indicators, the company maintains occupational safety statistics in accordance with the requirements of the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP).
The head of the Company presented information from the report on the implementation of environmental obligations, mentioned the implementation of performance indicators and the introduction of new technologies across the Company and by each production structural unit for 2018 and Q1 2019.
In 2018, EMG fulfilled oil production plan of 2 million 895 thousand 332 tons (+332 tons), and oil delivery plan of 2 million 863 thousand 464 tons (+1 489 tons). In the first quarter of 2019, the plan for oil production and delivery was fulfilled within the targets.
The report reviewed in detail the progress of geological exploration, further replication of the “Intellectual field” concept, logistics and maintenance service projects, existing and planned projects for gas utilization and processing, renewal of vehicles fleet, project on polymer flooding at the Zaburunye field, programmes for modernization of materials and technical facilities of social infrastructure of EMG and collective agreement, personnel policy, dual training programme, labour discipline and others.
In order to improve the social and living conditions of oilmen, in 2018, the following facilities were commissioned: residential facility for 100 people in Kenbay field, canteen for 50 people in Kissymbay field and for 150 people in S. Balgimbayev field. Under the dual training programme in the period from 2015 – 2018 to Q1 2019, 97 interns (including students of the Atyrau University of Oil and Gas and Higher College APEC Petrotechnic, students - citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan studying at the Ufa State Oil Technical University) completed on-the-job training and practical training. All students successfully completed the training and were given qualifications by trades, “Well Survey Operator”, “Oil and Gas Production Operator”, “Process Plants Operator”, “Instrumentation Fitter”. 40 students who got the highest scores at the test, were employed at the Company. To date, 39 students continue their training, of them 19 students are from the Atyrau University of Oil and Gas, 20 – from Higher College APEC Petrotechnic.
From October 1, 2012 to 2018, “Embamunaygas” JSC allocated over 897 billion tenge to payment of taxes to the republican and local budgets, and over 4.3 billion tenge was allocated to development of regional infrastructure. In accordance with the contractual obligations, the Company participates in the infrastructure development of Atyrau Oblast. Annually funds are transferred to the oblast budget for this purpose. In 2018, about 1 billion 866 million tenge was transferred, in 2019 - about 126 million tenge.

Officially, the foundation of “Embamunaygas” JSC start from 1922 - since the foundation of “Embaneft” Trust for development of the Dossor and Makat fields.
