For the first time in the history of oil capital as per the initiative of two production companies – pioneer of oil industry in Kazakhstan – “Embamunaygas” JSC (further – EMG) and operator of North Caspian Project – “North Caspian Operating Company B.V.” (further – NCOC), a football match has taken place between oil people and media people of Atyrau (further media Atyrau). The game was dedicated to three important events – 20th anniversary of Astana, 25th anniversary of North Caspian project and 50th anniversary of the field after S. Balgimbayev.
Friendly match between united team of EMG and NCOC team has been held for the first time. It was held at “Sudoremontnik” stadium. “EMG & NCOC” team was represented by 14 employees from both companies (7 employees from each company), with three substitutes. Journalist’s team was represented by 15 players – workers of regional “Atyrau TV” channel, “Atyrau-Akparat” LLP, regional communication service of Atyrau oblast.
Team members and fans were welcomed by managing director on social policy of EMG, Salimzhan NAKPAYEV, and NCOC Government relations manager Zhagpar YEGIZBAYEV and the chairman of Atyrau branch of RoK Journalists Union, Alma KALUSARIYEVA.
- First of all, I congratulate all players and guests with the 20th anniversary of our capital. The purpose of today’s match is to demonstrate the unity between oil people in Kazakhstan and the importance of interface with media workers. Each participant, whether oilman or journalist, contribute into the prosperity of our country and its capital – Astana, on a daily basis, - noted Salimzhan Nakpayev.
Zhagpar Yegizbayev, in turn, expressed the confidence that this football match can give an impulse to deepen the cooperation between all parties.
- Sport was always a powerful uniting force. And I’m glad that hits force today has gathered of all us, because the purposes of football contest on the promotion of friendship and good neighborly relationship ideas match with the objectives of North Caspian Consortium on support of local society. On behalf of NCOC, I would like to congratulate all participants with such memorial dates, and I hope that we can convert today’s event into a good tradition in the future.
- At the eve of the holiday, the representatives of both teams have requested us to organize friendly match between employees. We have readily agreed and now the workers of two branches have met on the pitch. I congratulate the stuff of two companies with significant events which are celebrated this year, - noted in her speech the chairman of RoK Journalists Union Atyrau branch, Alma Kalusariyeva.
Match was spectacular and tough. None of the sides would want to maintain the principle “participation is main thing”, and has struggled for the victory. As a result of friendly game: draw – 4:4. The goal scorers in oil people team were – B. Umargaliyev (NCOC), A. Bekseitov (EMG), B. Junusov (EMG), A, Rakhmanov (NCOC). Goal scorers from journalists - D. Kalzhigitov, T. Baksikh and K. Zhetpisbayev (scored double). After discussion, the facilitators have decided to award the cup to Atyrau media team.
Most active and bright players were recognized with diplomas in the nominations: “Best goal keeper”, “Best defender”, “Best midfielder” and “Best forward”. After the match, the captains have exchanged with balls as an expression of friendship and respect. At the end of the match, EMG, NCOC and media employees have had a chance to socialize during informal coffee-break organized by oil people.

Officially, the foundation of “Embamunaygas” JSC start from 1922 - since the foundation of “Embaneft” trust to develop Dossor and Makat fields. Main activity of the company: geological exploration, development of oil and gas fields, oil and gas production, oil and gas processing. “Embamunaygas” JSC consists of 6 operational structural units in Atyrau and 4 regional units in Atyrau oblast: “Zhaikmunaygas”, “Dossormunaygas”, “Kainarmunaygas”, “Zhylyoimunaygas”, “Embamunayenergo” company and “Equipment technical maintenance and warehouse management”.
