The 10th of April, the international Forum has taken place in the main office of EMG related to the current issues of implementation of digital technologies in the oil and gas industry which was initiated by the Company under the support of the RoK Ministry on Information and Technology. Forum hosted more than 200 delegates – representatives of core ministries, directors and employees of major oil and gas companies, international experts and representatives of IT Service companies.
- “Intelligent field” project executed by “E&P “KazMunayGas” JSC and “Implementation of automated maintenance and equipment repair system” project of the “NC “KazMunayGas” JSC are included into the list of events of the “Digital Kazakhstan” State Program, and are key events in oil and gas industry – said the ME Vice-Minister, Bolat AKCHULAKOV, in his speech during the Forum.
Let’s remind that EMG has launched a pilot project “Intelligent field” in February 2016 at Uaz field which had proven its efficiency. Power consumption was reduced by 35%. Due to increase of production from the existing wells stock, an additional production of 1360 t of oil was achieved. The number of workover activities was reduced and produced oil inventory per each well was adjusted. With the account of obtained experience, a number of “E&P “KazMunayGas” JSC main oilfields which represent about 80% of all oil and gas reserves and production was selected for further replication. From the EMG perspective the “Intelligent field” concept was implemented at Prorva group of fields in 2017 this year – it is implemented at Zhanatalap field of “Zhaiykmunaygas” OGPC.
- Presently, almost all major oil companies have subdivisions which perform the development and implementation of intelligent field concept. Worldwide oil and gas industry plans to invest into creation of intelligent fields in the next 5 years more than 1 billion USD in general. Therefore, we have decided to conduct this Forum which main objective is to establish an open dialogue between the government and business, oil companies and IT companies, and also to give an opportunity to latter to present modern digital technologies in oil production sphere – said EMG Chairman of the Board, Anuar ZHAKSYBEKOV, in his welcome speech to delegates.
Delegates during the Forum were introduced with 11 reports-presentations 8 of which were presented by internal experts from «Microsoft», IBM, Schlumberger and Rockwell Automation companies. Perspectives, risks and challenges of digitizing for the government and businesses were discussed by delegates during discussion sessions round participated by Vice-Minister - B.U. Akchulakov, international experts and directors of major oil and gas and service companies.

“Embamunaygas” JSC – affiliated company of the “E&P “KazMunayGas” JSC. Officially, the foundation of “Embamunaygas” JSC start from 1922 - since the foundation of “Embaneft” trust to develop Dossor and Makat fields. Main activity of the company: geological exploration, development of oil and gas fields, oil and gas production, oil and gas processing. “Embamunaygas” JSC contains 6 operational structural units in Atyrau and 4 regional units in Atyrau oblast: “Zhaiykmunaygas”, “Dossormunaygas”, “Kainarmunaygas”, “Zhylyoimunaygas”, “Embamunayenergo” company and “Equipment technical maintenance and warehouse management”. Company supplies produced oil for export and to internal market. In the internal market, oil is supplied to oil processing plants in Kazakhstan. Export of oil is conducted via two main routes: along Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and Uzen-Atyrau-Samara (UAS) pipelines.
